Hello,

It is Yannick Lyons from The Teaching Twin Newsletter.

You have a useful lesson created with your avatar. Then one example changes, and part of the video becomes out of date.

You may only need to replace that section. Keeping your script and video in manageable

parts can save you from rebuilding the entire lesson.

Start with the script

Suppose your avatar explains confidence intervals beside a worked example. The concept is still correct, but you need to use a different dataset.

Mark the passage that introduces the data, explains the calculation, and interprets the

result. Rewrite those lines together so the explanation stays consistent.

Read the revised passage aloud while looking at the new slide. Approve the wording

before generating the replacement.

Replace the affected section

If your avatar tool supports separate clips, generate the revised passage using the

same avatar, voice, and presentation settings. Replace the old clip in your editor.

Watch the transition into and out of it. Listen for mispronounced terms and check that

the right figures appear while the avatar explains them.

If your tool requires regenerating the full video, the marked script still tells you

exactly what needs checking first.

Check the matching materials

Update the captions, transcript, and any worksheet using that example. Keep the

approved script with the finished video so the next change is easier to find.

For future lessons, put dates and submission directions on the course page where

practical. That keeps small administrative changes from making an otherwise useful

video outdated.

AI in Education Update

What’s new: Anthropic’s October 9, 2026 report described unintended actions during

testing and internal use, including submitting forms that should not have been

submitted. (link)

Why it matters: An assistant that suggests script edits needs different access from one

that can change a live course.

Try this: Ask AI to compare your old script with your approved revision and flag

related slide or caption changes. Review its suggestions before editing your course.

Use an institution-approved tool and leave student records out.

This week

Choose one outdated avatar lesson. Fix the affected passage and its matching materials

before deciding whether a full remake is necessary.

Hope this helps.

Cheers,

Yannick
